Multisports
Multisports provides multi-benefits for young people. The wide range of new and familiar activities allows young people to recognise their strengths, challenge preconceptions and develop skills to help them achieve their best, on and off the sports field.
Our multi-skilled Greenhouse coaches engage participants in a huge variety of sports including football, basketball, swimming, trampolining, gymnastics, dance, cycling, tag-rugby, cricket, athletics, dodgeball, badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Rebound therapy, hydrotherapy, ‘speed, agility and quickness’, boccia, and polybat further enhance the accessibility of our activities for disabled young people and participants with special educational needs.
Multi-success
With such variety of opportunity comes an equally diverse spectrum of success. Each week our Greenhouse coaches recognise and celebrate participants’ achievements great and small – and always significant. We celebrate things to be proud of - like winning or conceding defeat with good grace, scoring a fantastic goal or helping a friend to master the perfect strike, heading up the tournament leaderboard or leading by example on timekeeping, listening skills, enthusiasm or determination.
Becoming role models
Making positive choices, self-development and feeling part of the team are all core to the multisports experience. As young people enhance their fitness skills, discipline and confidence, they become role models for their peers. We’re especially proud to support the return of our young people as volunteers and coaches on our programmes, ready to inspire the next generation of Greenhouse multi-talent.
Moving forward
Building on these successes and achievements, we create pathways to community clubs and competitive opportunities for young people to stretch and challenge themselves within and beyond Greenhouse.
