James is autistic and has behavioural problems. He used to be difficult to handle, but his coach, Wendy, spotted his excellent hand-eye coordination and worked with him during their multisports sessions. James loves table tennis and knows he must behave to attend sessions. His behaviour has transformed and his ability to follow instructions and engage with school work has greatly improved.
Our coaches engage children with physical disabilities and special educational needs through a variety of sports. These include familiar sports such as football, swimming and athletics, alongside rebound therapy and hydrotherapy. Young people are coached in small groups and individually and have the chance to compete in a fun atmosphere.
